KASURI Shirt
Inspired by kasuri, a traditional Japanese textile technique dating back to the Edo period, this shirt is brought to life in Nishiwaki—one of Japan’s most renowned weaving regions—through modern technology and sensibility. The depth and character of the fabric are created through highly advanced yarn-dyeing techniques. Each pattern is meticulously planned at the yarn stage, carefully determining exactly which sections to dye.
Even for motifs such as stripes or checks, the dye placement is precisely adjusted according to how the weft and warp threads will appear in the final weave. This level of craftsmanship and precision gives the fabric its distinctive texture and dimensional depth.
